Docs Site Cookie Notice
Effective Date: 2026-07-14
This notice explains the cookies and similar technologies we use on docs.catalpasatelier.com. It is a supplement to the Docs Site Privacy Notice and the main Privacy Policy on catalpasatelier.com.
1. What is a cookie
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser so that the website can remember things between page loads. Cookies set by the site you are visiting are called first-party cookies. Cookies set by another domain that the site loads resources from are called third-party cookies.
We also use closely related technologies such as localStorage for the
same purposes; we refer to all of them as "cookies" in this policy for
convenience.
2. Categories we use
We group cookies into three categories. You can change your decision at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer.
Essential (always on)
These are required to display the documentation correctly and to record the choice you make in the cookie banner. We do not need consent for these because the site cannot function without them.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
ca_docs_consent_v1 | First-party, localStorage | Stores your cookie preferences for this subdomain only. | Up to 12 months |
docusaurus.tab.* | First-party, localStorage | Remembers the active code-tab on documentation pages. | Persistent |
theme | First-party, localStorage | Remembers your light/dark theme preference. | Persistent |
docs-preferred-version-* | First-party, localStorage | Remembers the documentation version you last viewed. | Persistent |
Analytics (opt-in)
Loaded only after you accept the analytics category in the cookie banner. These help us understand which pages are most useful and where readers get stuck.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics 4 | Distinguishes unique browsers and sessions. | 13 months |
We use Google Basic Consent Mode: the Google tag is not loaded and sends no request before analytics consent. We do not enable Google Signals or advertising features in our Analytics configuration.
Marketing (opt-in)
Loaded only after you accept the marketing category. These help us measure whether advertising campaigns successfully bring readers to our documentation, and they let us build aggregate audiences for future campaigns.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
_fbp and related identifiers | Meta (Facebook Pixel) | Campaign measurement and permitted audience functions. | According to our Meta configuration and Meta's applicable terms |
| Reddit Pixel identifiers | Reddit Pixel | Measures visits from Reddit advertising campaigns and related events. | According to our Reddit configuration and Reddit's applicable terms |
The Docs, Official Site, and Blog may use the same suite-level Meta and Reddit pixel identifiers, but each property requests and stores consent independently. A choice on one property does not apply to another.
3. How to manage your choices
- Click Cookie preferences in the page footer at any time.
- You can also block or delete cookies using your browser's settings. Doing so may affect site functionality.
- If you are in the EEA, the UK, or another region with a cookie consent law, your consent is required before we load any cookies from the Analytics or Marketing categories. We default to "rejected" until you decide. Withdrawing a choice stops future events on this property; it does not automatically erase information already received by a provider.
4. Do Not Track
Our cookie banner is the authoritative way to express your preference on this site. We treat the absence of a choice as "essential only".
5. More information
For the wider privacy picture — including how your Catalpas Atelier account data is handled — see the main Privacy Policy.
The Official Site has its own Cookie and Tracking Notice and separate consent record.
