Account & Registration

One Catalpas Atelier account can be used on the website, in Scribe, and in Scroll. All three use the same account, but you sign in to each one separately.

Register with email

  1. Open the registration page.
  2. Enter your email address and password, then confirm the password.
  3. Read and accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
  4. Optionally enter your name, country or region, occupation, and marketing email preference.
  5. Complete the security check, then choose Create account.
  6. Open the link in the verification email to verify your address.

Your browser signs in to the new account after registration. You can view parts of Account Center before verifying your email, but you cannot buy or change a subscription. Complete verification before payment.

If the message does not arrive, check your spam folder and confirm that the address shown in Account Center is correct. The page may ask you to wait before sending another message.

Sign in on the website

Open the sign-in page, then either:

  • enter your email address and password; or
  • choose Sign in with Google.

If you started from Pricing, Writing Suite, or Account Center, the website normally returns you to that task after sign-in. Complete any verification code or security check shown on the page before continuing.

Set a desktop-app password after Google sign-in

Google sign-in works on the international website, but Scribe and Scroll use an email address and password. If you created the account with Google only:

  1. Sign in on the website and open Settings.
  2. In Password, choose Set password.
  3. Open the one-time link in the email and set a password before the link expires.
  4. Return to Scribe and Scroll and sign in to each app with the same email address and new password.

You can also connect or disconnect Google sign-in from Settings, but the account must keep at least one working sign-in method.

Reset or change a password

  • If you forgot the password, choose Forgot password on the sign-in page.
  • If you are signed in and want to change it, open Account > Settings > Password and request a one-time change link.

After a reset, the website, Scribe, and Scroll may ask you to sign in again. Use the new password separately in all three places.

Manage your profile and email address

Settings lets you:

  • edit your display name, name, country or region, and occupation;
  • choose the language used by the website and service emails;
  • choose whether to receive marketing emails;
  • check email verification status;
  • change your email address;
  • set or change your password;
  • manage Google sign-in.

Before changing your email address, verify the current address and follow the page instructions to confirm the new one. After the change, use the new address when signing in to a desktop app.

Sign in separately

  • Signing in on the website does not sign you in to Scribe or Scroll.
  • Signing in to Scribe does not sign you in to Scroll, and vice versa.
  • Signing out of the website does not sign you out of a desktop app.
  • The same account can use Scribe and Scroll at the same time.
  • When you sign in to the same app on another device, you may be asked to replace the sign-in on the first device. Save your work there before confirming.

For the complete desktop procedure and troubleshooting, see Desktop sign-in.

Request account deletion

The deletion request is under Account > Settings > Danger zone.

Before requesting deletion:

  1. Cancel automatic renewal for every subscription under Billing.
  2. Download any invoices you need from Orders.
  3. Save and back up every local Project.
  4. Read and confirm the deletion information on the page.

The request starts a 30-day waiting period. During that time you can sign in on the website and withdraw the request, but you cannot buy a new subscription, and Scribe and Scroll are paused. After withdrawing the request, sign in to the apps again. Deleting the account does not remove Scribe or Scroll Projects stored on your computer.

warning

Deleting an account does not cancel a subscription. First choose Cancel renewal for every subscription in Billing so that no renewal or payment remains pending.
