Free
Free provides a complete local writing Project. You can draft, search, and organize files; create characters, locations, events, tasks, and references from built-in templates; and inspect the same data through every built-in Story view.
Free also lets you create and maintain works, Publish Versions, and delivery profiles, choose a manuscript version, and review delivery previews and readiness. Adding a new delivery confirmation to the history requires Plus or Pro.
Free requires an account but does not require a paid subscription. It can use custom templates already available to the Project to create files, and it can read and preserve advanced data already present. Creating or changing custom definitions and running other Pro-only operations remain unavailable.
Plus
Plus includes everything in Free, and adds links between prose or cards and reference material. It also lets you add delivery confirmations and review their history. These confirmations do not copy or transfer your manuscript and are not required to create a work, Publish Version, or delivery profile.
Plus does not include Scribe's typesetting or export features. PDF, EPUB, print layout, and Appearance remain part of Scribe.
Pro
Pro includes everything in Plus. It is designed for Projects that need custom structures or advanced writing features. You can define custom card templates, properties, relationships, and visual structures; migrate metadata; and edit bibliographies, citations, references blocks, Ruby, and math.
These operations can change the Project's structure or the meaning of its content. Back up the entire Project before migrating data, removing fields, or changing relationships in bulk.
Sign-in, offline use, and plan changes
- Free, Plus, and Pro all require sign-in.
- After Scroll confirms a paid plan online, paid features can remain available offline for up to 24 hours. If they become unavailable, reconnect and select Refresh plan.
- Downgrading or signing out limits actions no longer included in the current plan. It does not delete or rewrite prose, cards, relationships, saved views, or advanced content.
- General-purpose editors can still read common local file formats, but they may not understand Scroll-specific Project settings or advanced content.
See Account and updates to review Current plan and refresh it. For how plans apply across Catalpas Atelier products, see Plans and access. Current purchasing options appear on the Scroll pricing page; if you also need Scribe, compare Writing Suite. Prices and available offers are shown on the official website and at checkout.
