Writing Suite

Writing Suite provides Scroll and Scribe in one annual subscription. It is designed for a workflow that moves from Story planning, drafting, and revision into book typesetting and publication export.

Writing Suite gives Scribe and Scroll the same paid plan. The apps are still downloaded and signed in separately, and Projects remain on your device. Purchasing the bundle does not install either app or synchronize or copy files automatically.

Writing Suite has no Free plan. Without the bundle, a verified account can still use Scribe Free and Scroll Free separately.

Writing Suite is annual only and does not currently accept coupons. The payment or change confirmation page shows the final amount, tax, and effective date.

Purchase Writing Suite for the first time​

If the account has no paid Scribe, Scroll, or Writing Suite subscription:

  1. Sign in to your Catalpas Atelier account and verify the email address.
  2. Open Writing Suite plans.
  3. Choose Writing Suite Plus or Writing Suite Pro.
  4. Confirm both products, the selected plan, and the annual price.
  5. Select Continue to Stripe, then review the final amount and renewal details before paying.
  6. Return to the official website after payment.
  7. Open Account Overview and check the Writing Suite, Scribe, and Scroll cards.
  8. Install both apps and follow Sign in to Scribe and Scroll.

Move from one or two standalone subscriptions​

If you already pay for Scribe, Scroll, or both, do not cancel those subscriptions first. Choose the intended Writing Suite plan and follow the confirmation page.

When the confirmation page lists standalone subscriptions that can be handled as part of the move:

  1. Review the intended Writing Suite plan and every listed standalone subscription.
  2. Continue to payment for the full annual Writing Suite price.
  3. The listed standalone subscriptions end only after the Writing Suite payment succeeds and the bundle becomes active.
  4. Any unused amounts shown on the confirmation page are returned separately to their original payment methods according to the page instructions.
  5. Return to Account > Overview and confirm the plans shown for Writing Suite, Scribe, and Scroll.

A final refund can differ from an estimate on the confirmation page. Beginning this change does not end an existing standalone subscription before the new bundle payment succeeds.

When the page asks you to contact Support​

Support may need to help when:

  • Account Overview shows Writing Suite and a paid standalone subscription at the same time;
  • an existing subscription already has a cancellation or other future change scheduled;
  • the website cannot complete a subscription or refund step; or
  • the page asks for a subscription review.

Stop repeating the purchase and contact Support. Provide the account email address, existing products, current plans, and the status shown in Billing. Do not send a password or complete payment information.

Do not cancel an existing Scribe or Scroll subscription before starting the move to Writing Suite. Begin on the Writing Suite plans page and review what the confirmation page can handle. Contact Support only when the page asks you to do so or the displayed subscriptions do not match.

Manage Writing Suite​

Open Account > Billing > Writing Suite to review:

  • the current Writing Suite plan;
  • the included Scroll and Scribe plans;
  • subscription status;
  • the next renewal date or scheduled cancellation date; and
  • Review Writing Suite plans, Payment methods & invoices, and Cancel renewal.

When an app is included through Writing Suite, its own Billing page explains that the bundle provides the plan and directs management actions to Writing Suite.

Upgrade Writing Suite Plus to Pro​

  1. Select Writing Suite Pro under Writing Suite plans.
  2. Read the change summary.
  3. Confirm the amount and effective time on the payment confirmation page.
  4. Complete the confirmation and wait for Account Overview to update.
  5. In Scribe select Refresh subscription, and in Scroll select Refresh plan.

The upgrade takes effect after the payment and website update are complete. Use the amount on the confirmation page instead of calculating a difference from the listed prices.

Move Writing Suite Pro to Plus​

Choose Writing Suite Plus from the Writing Suite plans page. The change is scheduled for the end of the current annual period, and the confirmation page shows the date.

Until that date:

  • Scribe and Scroll continue to use Pro;
  • Account Overview can continue to show Pro; and
  • you do not need to submit the same change again.

After the effective date, select Refresh subscription in Scribe and Refresh plan in Scroll, then confirm that both apps show Plus.

Return to a standalone subscription​

Ending Writing Suite does not create a new standalone Scribe or Scroll subscription automatically. If you want only one app in the next period:

  1. On the Writing Suite Billing page, select Cancel renewal and record the end date.
  2. After the current bundle period ends, purchase the standalone plan you want to keep.
  3. Refresh the plan in that app.

Contact Support first if you need to avoid an interruption or another paid subscription is also present on the account.

Cancel Writing Suite​

  1. Open Account > Billing > Writing Suite.
  2. Select Cancel renewal.
  3. Review the confirmation and current-period end date.
  4. Select Confirm cancellation.
  5. Return to Billing and confirm that the cancellation is scheduled.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current annual period. Until then, Scribe and Scroll retain the plans supplied by Writing Suite. After the period ends, each app shows any plan that remains available to it—normally Free—the next time it refreshes online.

Canceling renewal does not automatically refund an order. To request a refund for a paid order, open Orders, choose Request a refund for that order, and submit the request. Eligibility and the result follow the Terms of Service and the review outcome.

Update both apps after a purchase or change​

After Writing Suite becomes active:

  1. Sign in to Scroll with the account or select Refresh plan.
  2. Sign in to Scribe with the same account or select Refresh subscription.

Signing in, refreshing, or signing out in one app does not perform the same action in the other. Local Projects are not synchronized automatically between apps or devices.

Next steps​
